Jerold Darold Strege

Updated: Jan 14, 2022

Jerold was a prison guard for 25 years at Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, WI. He was last seen leaving his job on October 2nd 2002.

Jerold loved golf and was registered to participate in a tournament the following weekend, October 5-6th but never arrived.

Jerold's father went to his apartment on October 9th, after failing to reach Jerold by phone. He found that the apartment was unlocked and the lights were on and the TV was on and tuned to the golf channel. Jerry's cell phone was next to the bed. His wallet, and car keys and the golf clubs were all there in the apartment. His car and motorcycle were both in the garage. There were no signs of a struggle, and the only thing that was missing was Jerold's gun.

Jerold is described as a quiet man, who is divorced and doesn't have any children. His dad said that he had never been the same since a prison riot in 1983 where he was held hostage and tortured.

There were extensive searches in the Waupun area but no leads of his whereabouts. There has been no activity on his bank account. His case remains unsolved.

Jerold was last seen wearing a seiki/citizen watch and work uniform. He was 6'3 at 230lbs and 43 years old. He had brown hair, blue eyes, neatly trimmed beard.
