Melissa June Beson was last seen in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin on March 17th, 2025.
Melissa is an American Indian/Alaska Native woman, 5’7”, and 165-195 pounds. She has brown hair, a medium build, and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing red jogging style pants, a black sleeveless shirt, and a gray sweatshirt.

She is enrolled with the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, part of the Lac du Flambeau Reservation of Wisconsin.
Melissa was last seen on March 17th, 2025 between 5:30pm and 7:30pm while she was walking on Indian Village Road in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. She has ties to Wausau, Wisconsin and Manitowoc, Wisconsin. She may have been going to Manitowoc at the time of her disappearance, but was never witnessed there. She was reported missing by concerned family members on March 23rd, 2025.

The Lac du Flambeau Tribal Police Department have conducted searches in the area where Melissa was last seen and other areas of interest. Other agencies have also assisted in conducting grid searches on foot, high-tech drones and airplanes, and specially trained canines. Because of the challenges and danger of on foot searches, Law Enforcement have not requested assistance from volunteers.

In addition, the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is offering a reward of $25,000 for information leading to the return of Melissa and/or the arrest and prosecution of anyone involved in her disappearance.
While sightings of Melissa have been reported, all have been investigated and found to be cases of mistaken identity and sometimes hoaxes.
More than 1,300 acres have now been searched and still no sign of Melissa at all. Melissa’s mother indicates that it is unlike her daughter to leave home for this long and not tell anyone. It has been suggested that Melissa left and is ‘hiding out’, to which a statement was released indicating “Melissa, please know that you are not in trouble. We are not going to arrest you or take you to jail. . . please contact your family or our Department. If you need transportation, it will be provided. If you need money to assist you in coming home, that, too, will be provided. Just please reach out and let your community know that you are safe.”
Melissa is 37 years old.
