About Us.
Wisconsin Missing Persons Advocacy, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness for the missing by giving them a voice and supporting the families affected. We work collaboratively to advocate for the missing and provide educational and informational activities to increase public awareness and knowledge of prevention measures.
Founded in August 2017 by Marsha Loritz, the organization began as a personal mission after her own mother went missing in April 2013. In 2015, Marsha wrote to Governor Scott Walker requesting a statewide Missing Persons Awareness Day. Since then, April has been officially recognized as Missing Persons Awareness Month in Wisconsin every year.
Two of our board members have experienced the trauma of having a missing loved one firsthand and understand the emotional toll it takes on families.
